The Minister of Equipment, Housing and Regional planning in a work visit to the SPLT head office |

On January 22, 2010, the Development Company of the Tunis Lake (SPLT) was honoured by the visit of Mr Slaheddine Malouche, Minister of Equipment, Housing and Regional planning, who came to be informed of the projects in progress and future development plans of the company. During this visit the Minister was accompanied by Mr Mohamed Néjib Berriche Secretary of State within the Minister of Equipment and Housing, in charge of Housing and Regional planning, as well as Mohamed Hédi Slim and Salem Jérou respectively General Manager and the official representative within the cabinet of the Minister of Equipment, Housing and Regional planning. Mr Belgacem Abdelli General manager of the company and his collaborators exposed to the minister and his delegation the consistency and projects progress of installation as well as the infrastructure in course of execution in the lake bank area ; in particular:
- the development project of the allotment " Businesses Space" located in the bank north-eastern zone next to the International Fair of Tunis
- the execution project of the service road crossing the allotment" la Cité des Pins » The two projects above being envisaged to be completed by the end of the first half of 2010.
- the execution project of the banks connecting road to the North-South capital in Extension of the main boulevard of the northern zone" Al Khalij "which reached a progress rate of 30% and which completion is scheduled for the beginning of 2011.
They in addition presented to the Minister the work achieved by the company as regards the safeguard of the lake ecological balance as well as the former achievements relevant to the allotments development. Within this framework, the attention of the Minister was drawn on the urbanization progress of the zone and the problems characterizing this process in particular the issue of compliance by the developers of the specifications book provisions of the allotments in particular in terms of construction duration and the development of parking spaces (parking spots) meeting their own needs and part of the needs generated by their projects. The meeting ended with an on site visit to better acknowledge the real progress of the projects referred to above.
